Celebrating a young couple in love is a joy, but watching a couple who have been married for a quarter or half a century is a privilege.

An anniversary should be a fun filled event where a lot of emotions take place, and one of those emotions should not be boredom! One of the boredom factors is the long, unending anniversary toast. These special anniversaries are usually celebrated with a large group of family, friends and food, so you don’t want any of that precious time wasted with an hour long unprepared toast or speech.

If you’ve been given the honor of giving the toast at this very special occasion, or if you are one of the celebrants giving a toast, here are some suggestions as to what you can start with. Remember, it’s ok to mix some laughter with the tears.

To John and Sarah who have shown that love is not a contest or a competition. That love isn’t about who is right or wrong or even who did the dishes last. Love is a commitment of your heart to another person. John and Sarah demonstrate their love for each other every day in a million different ways.
